Shepherd Lodge News

May 2012

St Annes Club Day – Shepherd Lodge will be taking part in St Annes Club Day’s Parade on the 7th July. The theme for our float this year is the Diamond Jubilee, so you will see a lot of artwork being started over the next few weeks. The children are welcome to join us on the float and dress up in the jubilee theme such as red, white and blue, union jack or even a soldier, prince or princess. The details of meeting times will follow, please take note of the parents notice board.

Pre School Information Parents Evening – Thank you for attending the Pre School information evening. This gave us a fantastic opportunity to explain the activities we undertake in Pre School, and the reason why the activities take place and how they develop your child. The Pre School will be open on Thursday 24th May 5.30 – 7.00 pm. This will give those parents who are moving to the Pre School a chance to see the Pre School room and meet the staff. The Pre School children are able to wear a uniform which helps prepare the children for school, if anyone would like a uniform form please ask Katie in the office. The path to Pre-School will also be closing and all children and parents need to use the main entrance to enter and leave the nursery. I am sure you understand this supports the nurseries Safeguarding Policy. This will take affect from the beginning of June.

The Diamond Jubilee – The nursery will be closed on Tuesday 5th June as part of the bank holiday weekend to mark the Queens Diamond Jubilee. The nursery will celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee by having a jubilee picnic on Friday 1st June. The children are welcome to dress up in red, white and blue. They will take part in a jubilee parade and other jubilee activities.

Places for September 2012 - We are now more than half way through the Nursery year and we are already making plans for September admissions. Places are filling up, but we are still accepting children’s names for our waiting lists for September. If you would like any additional sessions for September please let Katie know in the office. If you wish to make any changes to your child’s hours please give the nursery as much notice as possible if you wish to make changes to your child’s attendance.
